DOWNTOWN VENUES:

  • LACAVA 12 Water St: LIVE PORTRAITS...Artist Patricia Chandler will be LACAVA's featured artist for July. Patricia's fine art consists of both realism and abstract work.  Many pieces blur the line between the two.  The abstract work is expressive of her life history and other personal concerns, such as the preservation of the beautiful natural environment in Maine. It is a body of work begun at the Rochester Institute of Technology where she earned a Master’s degree in Painting and Printmaking in the early 1990s. Her realism, on the other hand, is a relatively objective, meditative study of what is there. She is very interested in the varied expressions of realism in contemporary art and throughout the history of art. Light refreshments will be served.

With special exhibitions on Miss America, JFK's Camelot, World License Plates, and Oddball American Ingenuity, Motoropolis is truly a blast from the past. Their goal, over the next couple of years, is to create a hands-on museum of 20th century Maine and American history that attracts visitors from all over to downtown Biddeford.
