AFTER ARTWALK...

City Theater, 205 Main Street: THE LAST ROMANCE by Tony award winner Joe DiPietro is the next production to take the stage at City Theater. A crush can make anyone feel young again—even an 80 year old widower named Ralph (Skip Clark, of Wells). On an ordinary day in a routine life, Ralph decides to take a different path on his daily walk—one that leads him to an unexpected second chance at love. Relying on a renewed boyish charm, Ralph attempts to woo the elegant, but distant, Carol (Paula Suttle of Gorham). Defying Carol's reticence—and his lonely sister Rose's (Gretchen Wood of Shapleigh) jealousy—Ralph embarks on the trip of a lifetime, and regains a happiness that seemed all but lost. Local tenor Jason Phillips of Buxton plays Ralph's younger self, singing beautiful arias reflecting back on when Ralph had a chance at a career with The Metropolitan Opera. THE LAST ROMANCE is a heart-warming comedy about how love can happen at any age. THE LAST ROMANCE plays from May 18-27 at City Theater in Biddeford. Fridays & Saturdays at 8 PM Sundays at 2 PM. Tickets are $20 and are available by calling 207-282-0849 or www.citytheater.org.
